About the Association

The Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education and Training (VAVET) is a professional association that brings together vocational institutions, enterprises, public agencies and experts from across Vietnam.

Mission

The Association aims to be a strategic bridge between government, training institutions and employers, focusing on training standards and digital transformation to supply a highly skilled workforce.

What we do

  • Policy advice — reviewing draft laws, programmes and strategies for vocational education through our Policy and Law Advisory Board.
  • Raising quality — developing criteria to assess and rank vocational institutions, starting with colleges.
  • International cooperation — connecting members with partners in vocational training and skilled labour mobility.
  • Skills and employment — career guidance, employer links and talent selection for skills competitions.
  • The TVET Forum — a space for experts, managers and learners to share experience.

Recent milestones

  • Dec 2021 — Launch of the TVET Forum and a new logo: two interlocking Vs symbolising cooperation.
  • Dec 2025 — The fourth-term Congress (2025–2030) elected a 68-member Executive Committee and renamed the organisation the Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education and Training. Prof. Dr. Bùi Văn Ga was elected President.
  • May 2026 — A Policy and Law Advisory Board was established, and heads were appointed for the Ho Chi Minh City representative office and the International Relations Board.
