
Strengthening cooperation on vocational education in a new phase

On 1 July, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education and Training held a conference on their 2026–2030 cooperation programme.

To foster healthy competition in education, the Association is developing a set of criteria to assess and rank vocational education institutions, starting with colleges nationwide.

On 13 May, Maritime and Inland Waterway College No. I (MIC1), in cooperation with the Embassy of Denmark, successfully held the workshop "Sharing experience in greening vocational education and launching the Green Logistics training materials at college and secondary vocational levels".

On 15 May in Hanoi, the Association announced the establishment of its Policy and Law Advisory Board for vocational education and appointed leaders of several affiliated units.

The National Assembly has adopted a Resolution electing Mr Hoàng Minh Sơn, member of the Party Central Committee, as Minister of Education and Training for the 2026–2031 term.

On 3 April 2026 in Bangkok, Dr. Phan Sỹ Nghĩa, Vice President and Secretary General of VAVET, joined the World New Energy Vehicle Conference 2026 and its high-level forum on international cooperation in workforce training.

The Association, together with AHK Vietnam, is organising a delegation to Germany under the "Talents & Trainings in Germany" roadshow, planned for July 2026.

On the afternoon of 6 February, a delegation from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Viet Nam, led by Ms Helga Barth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Viet Nam, visited and held a working session with Viet Duc Technical College.

On 19 December 2025, the Congress of Delegates of the Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education, Training and Social Work for its 4th term (2025–2030) took place in Hanoi. Prof. Dr. Bùi Văn Ga, former Deputy Minister of Education and Training, was elected President of the Association for the new term.

The Ho Chi Minh City Association for Vocational Education will take on the role of connecting enterprises and international experts and leading vocational skills development across the region.

On the morning of 15 November 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education, Training and Social Work (VAVET&SOW) held a ceremony to launch the Viet Nam Vocational Skills Experts Club and to kick off the Fashion Design skills competition to select a competitor to represent Viet Nam at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.

The Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education, Training and Social Work (VAVET&SOW) has announced its decision to receive and appoint journalist Lê Anh Đạt as Editor-in-Chief of Nghề nghiệp và Cuộc sống (Career and Life) Magazine.
