The conference discussed policy coordination, innovation and technology adoption, public awareness and international cooperation in workforce training — with the aim of accelerating the globalisation of skills and mobilising all stakeholders to develop the new-energy vehicle industry and respond to climate change.
Participants included policymakers, professional associations, automotive and related companies, and academics and researchers from China and several ASEAN countries.
At the organisers' invitation, the Association sent Dr. Phan Sỹ Nghĩa to take part and present a paper on the Association's potential to promote international cooperation in vocational education and high-quality workforce training — in general, and for Vietnam's new-energy vehicle sector in particular.
The paper outlined Vietnam's policies on environmental protection and climate change, on vocational education, and the goals of the national automotive industry development strategy, helping partners understand the policy context and identify opportunities for cooperation.
It also presented successful partnerships between Vietnamese vocational institutions and Chinese companies and institutions — such as the 2023–2025 cooperation between Hanoi Industrial Vocational College (HNIVC) and Suzhou FUNA-AI Technology Vietnam to build the HNIVC–FUNA smart manufacturing training centre on a "mini factory" model — and suggested areas and forms of future Sino-Vietnamese cooperation in vocational education.
On this occasion, the Association registered as a member of the China–ASEAN Alliance for High-Skilled Workforce Training in the New Energy Vehicle Industry.
