Attending the ceremony was Đỗ Trọng Hưng, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Central Organisation Commission. On behalf of the Central Economic Commission were Trần Lưu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Commission; Deputy Heads Nguyễn Duy Hưng and Nguyễn Hồng Sơn; and leaders of the departments and units of the Central Economic Commission. Also present were representatives of central Party agencies, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, and a number of journalists from central media outlets.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Central Organisation Commission Lê Minh Hưng stated that Thái Thanh Quý is an official who was trained and matured from the grassroots, having held many positions in Nghe An province. He has always performed his duties with distinction and made important contributions to the overall achievements and results of Nghe An province over many years. Lê Minh Hưng emphasised that the transfer and appointment of Thái Thanh Quý to the very important Party position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission reflects the Politburo's confidence in him personally. He asked Thái Thanh Quý to quickly familiarise himself with the work and bring his abilities, qualities and experience into play, working with the leadership of the Central Economic Commission to perform well its function of advising and assisting the Party Central Committee – and, directly and regularly, the Politburo and the Secretariat – in guiding the building and improvement of economic institutions and in formulating the Party's major and important guidelines and measures on the country's socio-economic development. He also asked the Head of the Central Economic Commission and the Commission's leadership to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoints, guidelines and policies, especially the direction of the Politburo and the guiding ideas of General Secretary Tô Lâm on socio-economic development, bringing the country into a new era – the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
Speaking at the ceremony, Trần Lưu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Economic Commission, thanked the Politburo and the Secretariat for their attention to strengthening the Commission's leadership, which also reflects their attention to strategic advisory work and the formulation of the Party's socio-economic development policies, guidelines and directions. The Head of the Commission stressed that Thái Thanh Quý is a well-trained official who has held many positions and accumulated extensive practical experience. His presence in the leadership of the Central Economic Commission will strengthen both the Commission's leadership and the Commission as a whole in carrying out its assigned tasks. He hoped that Thái Thanh Quý would quickly familiarise himself with the work, draw on his experience and work closely with the Commission's leadership and staff to fulfil his duties in his new position. Trần Lưu Quang thanked the Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Organisation Commission for his guidance, which he fully accepted, and expressed the hope of continuing to receive the Politburo's attention to the Commission's organisational work and other areas of work.
Accepting his new duties, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission Thái Thanh Quý thanked the Politburo for its confidence in appointing him to the new position. He stressed that it is both an honour and a great responsibility, especially at a time when the Central Economic Commission, together with other agencies and units, is focusing on advising the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat on reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and thematic resolutions in the socio-economic field, and on drafting documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress. He pledged to make every effort to fulfil his assigned tasks, to uphold a strong sense of responsibility in quickly familiarising himself with his assigned work, and to continue learning, cultivating himself and enhancing his professional capacity, working with the leadership and staff of the Central Economic Commission to uphold its traditions and strive to accomplish its assigned tasks to the highest standard. He also expressed the hope of receiving the attention, guidance and assistance of the Politburo and the Secretariat, and effective coordination from central commissions, ministries and sectors and from localities in order to fulfil his duties well.

Thái Thanh Quý was born on 19 April 1976. Ethnicity: Kinh. Hometown: Long Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province. Date of admission to the Party: 20 February 2002. He holds a Doctorate in Economics and an advanced degree in political theory.
November 1997 – September 2003: Official of the Movement Department, then member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and Deputy Head of the Department of Rural, Worker and Urban Youth, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
October 2003 – November 2007: Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the School Youth and Children Department of the Provincial Youth Union, Standing Vice President of the Provincial Students' Association, and Secretary of the Youth Union of Party, State and Mass Organisation Agencies of Nghe An province.
