Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Chí Dũng will attend and deliver a guidance speech online at the Forum. The programme is organised by the Embassy of Viet Nam in Austria in cooperation with the National Innovation Centre (Ministry of Finance) and the Austrian Economic Chamber.

The event is expected to bring together many leading Austrian and Vietnamese organisations and corporations in artificial intelligence (AI), health technology, semiconductors and cybersecurity, such as UNIDO, TTTech, Infineon Technologies Austria, Siconnex, Dynatrace, FPT, VNPT, Sovico and Genetica.

It will be an opportunity to connect and discuss cooperation opportunities in high technology and innovation, as well as an important occasion to explore development potential in frontier fields such as AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, quantum technology, IoT, edge computing and robotics.

Ahead of the forum, Mr Vũ Lê Thái Hoàng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Austria, said that, in the spirit of Resolution 57 and in implementing the Government's Action Programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the network of overseas representative missions have identified technology and innovation diplomacy, within a comprehensive and modern diplomacy, as a top priority for cooperation and mutual development. Each mission, depending on its strengths and specific conditions, develops appropriate initiatives and ways of promoting cooperation and connections.

"The event has received strong support from the co-organiser, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), the National Innovation Centre (NIC), relevant agencies, technology corporations, universities and research institutes of both countries. This will be the first forum held in Europe to promote the exchange of information and updates on policies and on the science, technology and innovation ecosystems of the two countries, providing a platform for promotion and networking for the Vietnamese and Austrian technology business communities and paving the way for concrete agreements and cooperation," Ambassador Vũ Lê Thái Hoàng said.

As co-organiser of the forum, Mr Võ Xuân Hoài, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Centre (Ministry of Finance), said: "Co-organising the forum is one of the important activities in our strategy to promote international cooperation on innovation, with the aim of helping the Vietnamese business community access advanced technologies, expand markets and attract high-quality investment. As co-organiser, the National Innovation Centre hopes to build a bridge between the innovation ecosystems of the two countries, contributing to the development of core technologies, knowledge transfer and the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the context of digital transformation and international integration."

"Viet Nam, aiming to become a regional innovation hub, is stepping up the development and application of frontier technologies such as semiconductors, AI and IoT to serve the green and digital transitions. The potential for Viet Nam – Austria cooperation in these fields is enormous, especially in technology transfer and the development of high-quality human resources, creating added value for both economies," Mr Võ Xuân Hoài added.

The 2025 Viet Nam – Austria High-Tech and Innovation Cooperation Forum is an important milestone in promoting comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Austria in technology and innovation. More than a bilateral bridge, the forum also opens a channel for strategic dialogue with the business community and leading European technology and innovation partners, helping to diversify trade and investment relations and deepen Viet Nam's cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Through forward-looking networking activities, the forum will enable enterprises on both sides to make effective use of opportunities in technology transfer and high-quality human resource development, gradually integrating Vietnamese enterprises more deeply into global value chains in semiconductors and other strategic technology industries.

The forum is also an opportunity for Viet Nam to affirm its position as a strategic destination for Austrian and European technology "eagles", helping to shape a new step forward in high-tech development and making Viet Nam an important link in the global innovation map.
