The workshop was attended by Dr. Phan Sỹ Nghĩa, Standing Vice President and Secretary General of VAVET&SOW; Ms Birgit Nevala, Director of Finnpartnership; Mr Axel Sointu, representative of Finnpartnership; representatives of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Viet Nam; and more than 100 participants from vocational education and training institutions in Viet Nam and Finland.
At this workshop, Vietnamese educational institutions showed strong interest in digital transformation, vocational development, career development opportunities in Finland, and training and certification.
At the workshop, Mr Axel Sointu of Finnpartnership introduced Finnpartnership's financial instruments and explained how projects can be supported and linked with European vocational education programmes (Team Europe). A representative of GGGI then presented the "Green Transition Investment Programme in South-East Asia" (GTIP) of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, together with the needs and opportunities for green jobs.
The Vietnamese and Finnish participants then split into three groups to discuss the following topics:
Group 1:
- Digitalisation of educational activities related to the development of green TVET: platforms, tools and solutions.
- Development of green TVET: curricula, vocational training programmes and teacher training in green TVET.
Group 2:
- Connecting employers, educational institutions and students to meet each other's needs.
- Modernising vocational training programmes: raising quality standards and improving programme structure.
Group 3:
- Upskilling training for teachers (pedagogical skills and digital transformation skills).
- Curriculum development.
Following the first event of the workshop, several Vietnamese colleges were connected with Finnish educational institutions and are now in discussions to implement cooperation.
After the workshop, the Association and Finnpartnership continue to actively support Vietnamese and Finnish schools in building mutually beneficial cooperation. Schools can continue to exchange with partners via https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVNPQx7gs=/.
