The content of the official letter is as follows:
To: Members of the Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education, Training and Social Work
In recent days, Typhoon No. 3 (also known as Super Typhoon Yagi) and its aftermath have had very severe consequences for many northern provinces and cities of our country. The typhoon and its aftermath have left more than 300 people dead or missing; thousands of houses have been swept away or submerged, hundreds of thousands of hectares of rice and tens of thousands of hectares of crops and fruit trees have been flooded, and hundreds of thousands of livestock and poultry have died... The damage is immense.
Upholding the nation's tradition of solidarity and mutual support, the Viet Nam Association for Vocational Education, Training and Social Work respectfully requests its members to respond actively to the Appeal of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front to support people in overcoming the damage caused by Typhoon No. 3, specifically:
- Staff of the Office and affiliated units of the Association, and individual members, contribute one day's salary or income or more;
- Institutional members mobilise their staff to contribute at least one day's salary.
Contributions should be transferred directly to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committees of the communes, wards and townships, or of the districts, towns and cities where members reside or are headquartered. Members are requested to send confirmation of their contributions to the Association's Office for consolidation and reporting.
All contributions from members should be made before 30 September 2024.
With sincere thanks!
